Pastor Laura Phillips began to serve St Dysmas Lutheran Congregation and joined the staff of St Dysmas of South Dakota in July of 2025.

Pastor Laura is a second-career pastor who has served rural congregations in Valley Springs, Garretson, and most recently in Renner, SD.  Prior to ordained ministry, Laura was an educator and a lay minister.

Pastor Laura finds great joy in shining the light of Christ into dark places and she is passionate about empowering others to recognize and use their God-given gifts to the glory of God.

Laura is married to Fran and together they have four grown children, and one abundantly loved rescue dog. She is an avid reader, a thrift-store junkie, and she loves to be outdoors, especially if it is in a hammock with a good book.
